POST 2:Experiential learning

Experiential learning is an alternative to book-only learning by engaging students in a hands-on approach where they are better able to relate the theory and knowledge they learn in the classroom to real-world situations. For our topic, critical thinking needs to be more realistic. For example, when considering someone’s opinion, it requires people to evaluate his/her opinion logically. The advantage of direct instruction is when teaching crtical thinking, there is some basic theories. Like other group, their group is about drawing, which is more suitable for experiential learning, because in my opinion, drawing is a skill that is integrated with real life. A in person direct instruction can first help student know better about the basic theories. The advantage of cooperative learning is that it can help student interact with each other and make the skill practical. Based on our group discussion, we think cooperative learning is more effective.
